Florian joins cast of ABC’s Battlebots reboot
Kenny Florian will join veteran sports broadcaster Chris Rose in play-by-play and commentary for ABC’s reboot of Battlebots, premiering Sunday, June 21 at 9/8c.
Kenny Florian has done it all. He fought in the UFC at middleweight, welterweight, lightweight, and featherweight. He married a model. He serves as a color commentator for UFC Fight Nights and is a co-host for UFC Tonight on Fox Sports 1.
And now he will be doing the play-by-play and commentary for ABC’s BattleBots.
In ABC’s reimagined take on the killer robot combat sport — premiering Sunday, June 21 at 9/8c — homemade contraptions will battle each other in a single-elimination tournament-style format, until there is one ‘bot left whirring.
Florian will join veteran sports broadcaster Chris Rose in play-by-play and commentary, Molly McGrath (Fox Sports) will host, Faruq Tauheed is your ring announcer, and Allison Haislip (Attack of the Show) and NASA engineer Bobak Ferdowsi serve as sideline reporters.
Judging each battle will be onetime BattleBots competitor/special effects artist Fon Davis, NASA astronaut Leland Melvin and Nerdist’s Jessica Chobot.
