Florian on any concerns that he’ll lose strength by dropping a weight class:

It’s hard to predict any of that because I’ve never been at 145. All things considered, I think I’ll be able to do it right. I trust in the people that are around me. I think I’ll be able to do it without any problems. You never know. Anytime you’re going into unknown territory, you have to plan for a lot of variables. These are things I’m not familiar with, but I’m confident that I’ll be fine on fight night and I’ll be able to perform to the best of my ability.

Florian on his desire to capture the UFC’s featherweight title:

I think that’s goal for every fighter in this sport. I’m in this sport to try to be the best. I do it because I love it. I love challenges and there’s no better challenge than mixed martial arts, in my opinion, when you’re talking about one-on-one sports. These are the kinds of things that really excite me. It’s something that’s new and something that’s going to be tough. I’m game.
