Fight Pass Announcement: 1st Invicta event set for Sept. 6th

Today the UFC sent out a letter to the press letting them know that a special press conference would be held on Thursday at 3:00 PM ET.

Las Vegas, Nevada – UFC chief content officer Marshall Zelaznik will make a major announcement concerning UFC FIGHT PASS, the UFC’s digital streaming service, TOMORROW, Thursday July 10, at 12noon PT/ 3pm ET.

Zelaznik will be joined by other mixed martial arts luminaries on what promises to be a media call crammed with news. 

The Underground will be live on the call and will update this news thread as the information comes in. Check back after 3:00 PM ET for all the updates.

3:04 Marshall Zelnik announces that Invicta FC will hold it’s first event to broad cast on Fight Pass on September 6th.

3:05 All of the Invicta FC library is now available on UFC Fight Pass.

3:06 President of Invicta FC Shannon Knapp announces the full fight card for the event in Kansas City. 

3:08 Atom weight champion Michelle Waterson is on the call and expresses and how excited she is to be a part of the card.

3:09 Knapp was asked how long it took to put together Fight Pass deal with UFC and explained it was standard deal. 

3:11 Marshall Zelnik explained the Fight Pass will be the exclusive streaming partner with Invicta but they are actively looking for world wide distribution and possibly PPV in the future.

3:12 Michelle Waterson was asked if she can expects/hopes to fight in the UFC, but she said she believes Invicta will stand on it’s own and she’s happy to represent them.

3:14 Shannon Knapp explains that she is hoping to bring in woman early in their careers and build them into stars.

3:15 Marshall Zelnik would not answer the question about the subscribers level, but did express that it continues to grow and exceeded every expectation they had.

3:17 Shannon Knapp revealed that Cris Cyborg will definitely be seen on the new platform, but was unable to reveal when her next fight would be and at what weight.

3:18 Knapp was asked about how the UFC taking their straw weight division to TUF affected them and said it allowed them to bring in a lot of new talent and she was able to fill the division very quickly.
