Bitter Twitter quarrels are a central means to build interest in a fight today. There are endless references to mothers, wives, and death.

Thus the end of a recent call out was an appreciated change of pace.

The plan to adopt has been in motion for some time, and was referenced by Alvey last year.

“My wife and I made the major decision to adopt a child from Africa,” he wrote shortly after signing to fight Rashad Evans. “Adopting a child is not easy. It’s a very involved process that takes time and money, but after having three children of our own, my wife and I are ready to open our family to another child; something spoke to us. We always had the idea of adopting a child, but the original plan was to wait until my wife completed her doctorate. But then she found a child in need, and we decided this was the perfect time and opportunity for us.”
