Given that Fedor neither speaks nor writes English, the statement above on his official facebook fan page is clearly a public message from his management, M-1 Global. The reference to co-promotion is unambiguous – M-1 is still pushing for co-promotion as a condition for Fedor’s participation in a Strikeforce event.

Previously, Emelianenko’s manager, M-1 Global President Vadim Finkelchtein said plainly that they had signed a four-fight deal with Strikeforce.

Even before his last fight, particularly when he had one fight left, everyone was interested in [continuing] the relationship [between M-1 Global and Strikeforce]. It was just a matter of making sure that everyone was happy. We got there, and I’m very thankful for it.

Some of the details are confidential in nature. What Fedor wanted was not out of the ordinary. It was just a matter of security and for him to feel like, if he performed the way to which he is accustomed, that certain things would [be] guaranteed. It was just a matter of both sides respecting each other.

However, yesterday an M-1 Global representative said that Fedor’s contract is with Showtime.

Thus, at the moment, it appears that Fedor’s participation in future Zuffa-owned Strikeforce events may be a subject of further negotiation.
