In the main event of Bellator 198, former UFC champion Frank Mir fought arguably the greatest heavyweight in MMA in ‘The Last Emperor’ Fedor Emelianenko. The fight took place in the first round of the Bellator MMA Heavyweight Grand Prix.

The bout was a quick, but furious engagement between the two heavyweights before Fedor landed a stiff uppercut that rocked Mir and was quickly followed up with a flurry of strikes to end the bout by TKO.

Official Result: Fedor Emelianenko defeated Frank Mir by TKO (Strikes, Round 1, 0:48)

Play-By-Play

Round 1: The two heavyweights come out and they don’t waste much time throwing leather. Mir lands a good punch that has Emelianenko backing up and against the cage. Mir follows him to the fence and lands some good shots in the clinch. Fedor tosses Mir with a hip toss and the two are standing again. Mir comes forward winging chots and Fedor lands a short left hook that drops Mir! Fedor follows him to the ground and hammers home shots until the bout is stopped. Fedor moves on in the Grand Prix!
