Fedor fires MMA exec: possible revenge for Alex?

UGer touchvery kindly traslated a breaking, complex story about Fedor Emelianenko, his brother Aleksander, and promoter Oleg Muhamedshin.

Alexander Emelianenko was supposed to fight in Tyumen, Siberia, Russia on December 22 against Eric Prindle. However, ten days before the bout, the organizers of event Oleg Muhamedshin, president of MMA Federation of Tyumen Region, and his wife Elena decided to replace Alex with Kostya Erokhin, due to Alex’s alleged “unsportsmanlike conduct.”

Later they elaborated on this term on on the Russian social network VK, stating that Aleks was drunk all the time, as he was preparing for the fight in Tyumen, and refused to pass part of required medical tests. Aleksander himself denied all the allegations, and called the Mukhamedshins crooks who wanted to cut his payday three times, and started all the dirty rumours about himafter he refused. Alex promised to sue the pair.

Then during a recent meeting of the Russian MMA Union, which is governed by Fedor Emelianenko, Radmir Gabdullin, Chairman of the All-Russian Panel of Referees under said Union, made the following statement concerning Tyumen MMA Federation:

“Referees and fighters who took part in competitions were not paid. Banners on their events lacked the logo of Russian MMA Union. Rental fee for gyms was not paid although sponsors transferred corresponding funds. These factors indicate commercialization of sport.”

That is why Russian MMA Union delegates passed a resolution to dismiss the current President of Tyumen MMA Federation Oleg Mukhamedshin.

Mr. Mukhamedhin responded, speaking to a local journalist who worked for the news resource 72.ru:

“I’m still the President of MMA Federation of Tyumen Region. We have our own organization, we are not a regional office of the Union. Russian MMA Union can only revoke state certification. They do unpretty things behind my back . I guess Fedor ( Emelianenko – the President Russian MMA Union) bears a grudge against me for his younger brother. What is interesting, only in October I received a letter of appreciation from Russian MMA Union but now all of a sudden I’m the bad guy”

Despite the denial, it looks like Oleg Mukhamedshin has been fired after all. His son Roman Mukhameshin posted on his VK page today:

I would like to express my gratitude to now, unfortunately, former president of MMA Federation who is my father for his efforts in MMA development in Tyumen Region, for all the events held at his own expense, for all the great people invited to our city: Shlemenko, Monson, Velasquez, Cormier, etc.
