Fabricio Werdum calls out Jon Jones
Fabricio Werdum tweet to Jon Jones: “@JonnyBones good fight tonight against @dc_mma but better you stay there at your division. #vaicavalo @danawhite”

UFC light heavyweight Jon Jones has long said that a move to heavyweight is inevitable. After Jones beat challenger Daniel Cormier Saturday night, UFC interim heavyweight champ Fabricio Werdum called him out.

Werdum expanded on the remarks in an interview with MMA Fighting.
“He’s the one who started all this, saying he would fight me every day.”
“If you want to fight me every day, come to Kings MMA. We’ll spar every day, all day, with no time limit for a week, a month, until one quits. If you want to fight me every day, that’s how it’s going to work. When we have a visitor that talks too much trash, we do sparring sessions with no time limit, until someone quits. Old-school MMA.”
“But if you want to fight me, we can talk to the UFC and do this superfight. Heavyweight, catchweight, anything.”
However, in a post fight interview, Jones sounded like the move was a little farther off than he had indicated previously.
“I really don’t even want to talk about heavyweight anymore,” he said. “I’m making weight pretty good. It’s not hard making 205. When I do go to heavyweight, it’s something me and Dana talked about, it’s the right opponent, and it will be for the right purse.”
In terms of size, the fighters match up well. Werdum weighed in at 232 his last fight. Jones is said to walk around at that weight. They are the same height, but Jones has a massive 7.5″ reach advantage.
Could be a great fight.
