Fabio Maldonado undergoes surgery following bloody accident

MMA and pro boxing vet Fabio Maldonado suffered an undisclosed accident, and has undergone surgery in his home nation of Brazil. Like any normal person, he posted it live on his social network.

From the looks of it, the accident may have had something to do with a samurai duel.

“I had an accident and I will go through a surgery hurriedly here in [São Paulo], I lost a lot of blood but God willing I will be well,” wrote Maldonado. “I lost a lot of blood but thanks to God I’m already going to surgery. … ” The surgery took 35 minutes and thanks to God I was all right, what I thought I would do in the next months will postponed 90 days.”

Maldonado, 37, is coming off a first round TKO over Abdl-Khamid-Davlyatov at EFN 60 on March 5. He has also been boxing.
