Urijah Faber recently spoke to UFC President Dana White and was hypothetically asked if he would fight teammate Dillashaw. Faber was uninterested and recently moved up to featherweight to fight Frankie Edgar and would like to face Conor McGregor in the future:

“You know I had a strange call from Dana [White] that threw out a scenario of fighting for the belt with TJ and I turned it down,” Faber recently told Submission Radio (full audio interview below).

“TJ,” of course, is Faber’s teammate and the bantamweight world champion, TJ Dillashaw. Faber recruited the former college wrestler Dillashaw to his Team Alpha Male years ago, and is proud to have seen the young fighter come so far.

With both men fighting at 135 pounds, and Faber being a huge star, Dana has suggested that the two would eventually fight one another. According to the “California Kid,” that conversation between he and TJ has never happened.

When White called him out of nowhere and suggested a hypothetical fight between he and his teammate during a quick call, Faber told him he wasn’t interested. “I don’t turn down fights, it’s not my thing,” he said.

“But it would be kind of weird if I fought TJ at 135. So if I could get another shot at 145 or even I feel like a fight with McGregor is a big fight right now. I’d do that in a heartbeat. If he wants to go to Ireland, I’ll be the heel in Ireland in front of 90,000 folks. Either way I’m good for anything. I’m just going to take it one fight at a time, I have a huge task in front of me. I’m fighting a legend and one of the top fighters pound for pound in the world in my opinion, Frankie Edgar, and I’m looking forward to that.”
