Faber: I Knew TJ’s temper would be a problem
Urijah Faber: “You want insight in T.J. being frustrated. I had to talk that guy off a ledge, I mean on a daily basis when he first started training with us.”

The UFC Fight Night 81 main event looked like a matador goading a bull. Dominick Cruz used his extraordinary Neo Footwork, and landing 97 punches to Dillashaw’s face. By contrast, a visibly frustrated Dillashaw landed just 64 in return, despite trying far more times than did Cruz.
Dillashaw’s former mentor, Team Alpha Male founder Urijah Faber, said afterwards that he knew TJ’s temper would be a factor.
“You want insight in T.J. being frustrated,” said Faber. “I had to talk that guy off a ledge, I mean on a daily basis when he first started training with us. Because he’s – heh – you know he’d start cryin’g and ***makes angry face*** he’d like try to kill somebody if they got one punch on him and he didn’t think they should. You know, like, he’s a competitive guy, so I knew – and I said I wanted to share my insight of the fight – I knew his temper was going to be a problem in this fight. I knew that for a fact. I know him.”
