UFC president Dana White said he wouldn’t have wanted to score Saturday night’s bantamweight title fight between Sacramento’s Urijah Faber and Dominick Cruz.
The three judges scored the fight 50-45, 49-46 and 48-47, all for Cruz, who retained his belt at UFC 132 in Las Vegas.
“I (need) to watch the fight again to see (what I could have done differently),” Faber said. “You just get instinctual in there. The doctor asked me after the fight how I felt, and I said, ‘Great!’ Now I feel like (crap).
“I feel like I didn’t do enough to win, and obviously, the judges saw it the same way. I like to finish fights, and that’s what I was trying to do. I feel like I landed the heavier punches, but it wasn’t enough. My game plan was to nullify his feints and movements. I came up short.”
