Evan Dunham: I got robbed against Rafael dos Anjos

Evan Dunham feels comfortable claiming he should own a victory over current UFC lightweight title holder Rafael dos Anjos.

In fact, Dunham would also go as far as to claim he was robbed when he dropped a unanimous decision to dos Anjos at UFC on FX 8 in May 2013. With the Brazilian currently at the top of the division, Dunham wants to prove he should be there, too.

Dunham (17-6 MMA, 10-6 UFC) took a strong step toward the goal at The Ultimate Fighter 22 Finale. He outpointed Joe Lauzon (25-11 MMA, 12-8 UFC) via a hard-fought unanimous decision for his third consecutive win in the lightweight division at Friday’s FOX Sports 1-televised event at The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.

The loss to dos Anjos marked the beginning of a three-fight skid for Dunham. He’s just pulled himself out of that slump this year after going 3-0.

If you go back and watch those fights, it’s not really three straight losses, Dunham told MMAjunkie. If you look at the fight between me and dos Anjos, the current champion – I got robbed. I put it on him and there’s only been a few actual fights that I significantly lost.
