The main event for the TUF 20 Finale featured the first ever UFC women’s strawweight title between tournament finalists Rose Namajunas and Carla Esparza.
Following their stint in front of cameras, however, Esparza’s experience was on display as she prevented Namajunas from letting go the unpredictable kicks and submission attacks that characterized her time on TUF. When Namajunas flurried early, Esparza took her to the mat.
Namajunas managed to get to her feet, but as the fight went on, she increasingly had no answer for Esparza’s takedowns. By the end of the second frame, Esparza had gained mount position and forced Namajunas to give up her back.
