If you ask knowledgeable fight fans for the gamest fighter in the history of mixed martial arts, the majority answer would be Enson Inoue, who epitomizes the phrase Yamato Damashii. The Japanese language term refers to the spiritual and cultural values and characteristics of the Japanese people. In three words, it means Death Before Dishonor.

If you ask knowledgeable fight fans for their thoughts on the musician, philanthropist, environmentalist, animal rights activist, producer, writer, reserve deputy sheriff, 7th-dan in Aikido, Father of the Front Kick, father to sons Anderson Silva and Lyoto Machida, and somewhat boyishly handsome action film star, Steven ‘Fritão’ Seagal, they probably would not say Yamato Damashii.

Sometimes a gif is worth 1,000 words.

Some fans were dismayed at Fritão’s eagerness to be seen showing moves to notable MMA figures, and put together a video about it. Then UGer SidRival_PBTT, Rival Fitness 661 noticed that Enson had noticed it, and commented.

“It’s sad how some people can’t accept that their time the spotlight has come to an end,” he wrote. “I watch BJJ today and am amazed that some of the basic moves are new to me.

“Once I saw a move that I never saw before and instead of pretending like I already knew that move I stepped up and asked the instructor to show it to me again so I could learn it. What more ironic about this is that this instructor is my student.

“Steven Seagel is an embarrassment to true Martial Artists.”
