The ill-informed controversy over the UFC on FOX 28 main event unfortunately overshadowed at least two important truths. One, UFC on FOX 28 was a terrific card. Without Paige VanZant or Sage Northcutt ratings may not be great, but Saturday night was what the sport is about. Two, fook ‘who the fook is that guy?’ Jeremy Stephens is one tremendous, tremendous fighter. Talk about that, not confused misinterpretations of the Unified Rules.

Whatever knee missed and elbows landed here, this is what ended the fight.

It was a hell of a knockout, one so helluva that it was frightening. It’s not one of those you celebrate some much as one that makes you go “HOLY F@$%ING $#!@.”

And while we can all go on about our lives, perhaps with some lingering vicarious excitement. Fighters live with the consequences.
