Former Strikeforce welterweight champion Tarec Saffiedine was scheduled to make his UFC debut against top ten welterweight Jake Ellenbeger, but seems as though he will likely have a new opponent:

The long-awaited UFC debut of Tarec Saffiedine has been thrown another curveball.

The former Strikeforce welterweight champion was set to headline UFC’s first trip to Singapore on Jan. 4 against Jake Ellenberger, but “Sponge” is currently waiting for a new opponent. Ellenberger confirmed the news with MMAFighting.com, citing a pulled muscle. He will not need surgery.

Update: It seems as though Saffiedine may already have a replacement bout lined up, as Koren Hyun Gyu Lim has accepted the bout. It is likely to remain the night’s main event.
