Elite MMA Tshirt Club is a unique service, offering customers a unique tee from a prominent MMA gym worldwide. Their goal when starting the Elite club was not to be another t-shirt gimmick, but a company for true fans that appreciates where the sport came from – the gyms. The fighters that grace the octagon don’t just decide one day to be a fighter. It all begins in a gym.
Elite MMA Shirt Club Featured Gym: Tsunami Fight Gym
In this edition of our Featured Gym series we highlight a gym hailing from the city of Cambridge, England. Known mostly for being the home of the University of Cambridge, founded in 1209 and consistently ranked one of the top five Universities in the world, it is also home to a popular MMA gym known as Tsunami Fight Gym. Owned and operated by Robbie “The Flame” Olivier, Tsunami Fight gym is a proud to say they are a Shooters MMA Official Pro gym. For those unfamiliar with the Shooters MMA program, it is a professionally managed mixed martial arts (MMA) team, represented in a number of countries.
As for their Pro fighters, with John “The One” Maguire and UFC Fighter Luke Barnatt calling Tsunami home no one can doubt their dedication to the art of Mixed Martial Arts. As quoted by Luke Barnatt from his website The guys there are constantly pushing me to the next level and developing every part of my game. I train with some of the most talented fighters in the UK from John The One Maguire to Jack “The Stone” Mason.
We had ime to sit down with Thw Ultimate Fighter 17 contestant Jimmy Quinlan, who just returned from an extended stay at Tsunami Fight Gym to train with TUF Team Sonnen alumni Luke Barnatt. Quinlan was helping Barnatt get ready for his UFC fight that occurred on October 26th in Manchester, England. Quinlan told us that the first day he stepped foot in the gym he felt like he had been training there for years. The group was very friendly, I enjoyed working with them, and had a blast, Quinlan stated.
When looking at the gym it is smaller than most US gyms, but don’t let the size fool you. It contains everything needed to train a well rounded MMA fighter. Heavy bags hang from the ceiling toward the back, with a modified cage bringing you into the main training area. As for the back room, it contains weights both free and machine, and a full locker room. They offer strength and conditioning training, Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and of course MMA. Make sure you pay their website a visit, and if you’re ever in England stop in and learn from some of England’s Finest!
Elite MMA Shirt Club will reveal a new shirt each month from a top level MMA gym that you may have heard about or may know nothing about at all. You receive the tee, and during the month Elite tees hopes to educate on the back story of that MMA gym.
