Top UFC lightweight contender Khabib Nurmagomedov is 24-0, the last eight in the UFC. #2 contender Tony Ferguson’s record is if anything even more spectacular. ‘El Cucuy’ is on a nine-fight win streak, and won six performance bonuses in his last five fights. Each of his last three fights was the Fight of the Night.
The pair will fight at UFC 209, on March 4, 2017, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, for the interim UFC Lightweight Championship. Both fighters are hard at work for the fight of their lives, and Ferguson has gone beyond the conventional.
Luckily, Stormtroopers always miss. That’s a rule.
Fighters also train their defense continuously, but defense doesn’t always work – sometimes you get hit. So El Cucuy let’s himself get hit, in a sort of reverse sparring. He also does some peaceful pad punching in a park, deadlifting in a sombrero, wild Turkish get ups with a cannonball, dragging a friend around, fun on the jungle gym, gymnastics, dodging pool floaties, and more
Meanwhile, Nurmagomedov is probably wrestling with a bear. Or Daniel Cormier. Same thing.
