After Conor McGregor won the interim UFC featherweight title fight, Frankie Edgar was scene Octagon-side talking the new champion and the exchange seemed friendly. Edgar revealed exactly what was said to Megan Olivi in a backstage interview shortly after the fight:
“I do [feel like I’m next in line for a shot]. Actually, I went up to the cage, I told Conor ‘Congrats,’ and why don’t me and him do it before Aldo?” Edgar revealed to Megan Olivi, late Saturday night at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
“Because, who knows how long Aldo is going to take. Let me and him figure this out.”
