If tights are an advantage then why don’t any of the worlds elite grapplers wear tights in ADCC?? TIghts are legal in ADCC, so why doesn’t any one wear them if they are such an advantage?? (Vinny Magalhaes was the only one ever)

In Japan you can wear tights, yet Aoki is the only grappler that wears them???

Why don’t any of the Brazilians that fight in Japan wear tights??

The fact is that 99% of all the elite grapplers think wearing tights is a DISADVANTAGE, that’ why they don’t wear them.

It’s harder to pass with tights on and it’s harder to get out of leg locks. That’s why not one BJJ black belt, except for Royce has ever wanted to fight MMA in tights.

To me tights are merely hope for the guy on the bottom. Hope against all the sweat and blood that IS an advantage for submission defense. No tights, lots of sweat, spilling blood, on your back, equals little hope of any subs happening, that’s why refs stand fights up. because hot oil wrestling matches are boring as fuck.

All tights do is level the playing field a little and offer hope to the guy on the bottom which is usually the fighter with inferior grappling skills, like strikers. Strikers usually end up on bottom.

Strikers need the hope that tights bring more than dominant grapplers because dominant grapplers are usually on top where tights become a disadvantage to the dominant grappler. So tights are a DISADVANTAGE to superior grapplers and hope to fighters on the bottom which again, are usually strikers.

Bottom line, the people that think tights are an advantage are not even grapplers. Again, no high level grapplers are wearing tights in ADCC or in Japan, therefore no high level grapplers think that wearing tights are an advantage.
