ADCC recently announced that 10th Planet JJ founder Eddie Bravo was going to have a rematch with Royler Gracie; the first match, in 2003, ended with Royler tapping to a triangle choke.
Then Bravo announced that he had spoken with ADCC director Guy Neivens, and that Royler was asking for $50,000 to show (in addition to the $25,000 prize money). Bravo called for a fund to raise the 50k, noting that if 5,000 fans pay $10 each, the fight was on.
Yesterday, Gracie Mag, a reliable Gracie family mouthpiece said that no one should be fooled. It was not clear what the rumors that fans shouldn’t be fooled by, but eliminating Arnold’s love child with Roseanne Barr and reptilian shape shifters, it was presumably a refutation that Royler was trying to get ouf of the match. The Roseanne Barr one is not even that implausible.
Don’t be fooled by the rumor-mongering: Royler Gracie still very much wants to face Eddie Bravo in the superfight announced for ADCC 2011 in Nottingham, England. We’re still waiting on more about that.
Finally Eddie Bravo posted that he was not going to humiliate Royler by raising the money himself, but that he hoped the fight was still on anyway.
I decided against the Royler fund, if he doesn’t wanna do it then I’m not gonna try to humiliate him by raising the money myself, it’s a dick move and I don’t wanna be a dick. But based on what GracieMag is reporting now, I think it might happen anyways, we’ll see….
So we’ll see …
