There appears to be a super fight shaping up between between UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Piere and UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva. The bout is certain to make both fighters many millions of dollars. However, in a late 2009 interview, Silva’s manager Ed Soares said he thought GSP would be dumb to take the fight.

Ed Soares: George St-Pierre would be dumb to take that fight. I think… My opinion is I think Anderson is just too big for him… and I think that you can’t make Anderson any smaller. Yeah he could cut weight. He could make a catch weight but what’s a catch weight, 180?

MMACanada: He wouldn’t ever drop down to 170?

Ed Soares: I mean, I just don’t get it. I mean, Anderson right now is walking around at 225 lbs. Did you see how big he is? Yeah he’s 225 lbs. right now.

MMACanada: Yeah he’s huge!

Ed Soares: I mean to drop down to 170 that’s dropping 30… f— 55lbs! 

Neither fighter got smaller in the last three years, but with Anderson Silva looking for a final, few historic fights, any manager if offered GSP or Jon Jones would without a doubt choose the Canadian.
