Eagle FC, the MMA promotion owned by former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, today announced the passing of operations manager Kevin Alires.

Alires worked behind the scenes with the promotion beginning in 2021 after previous stints as a vice president for the PFL and World Series of Fighting dating back to 2011.
Dominance MMA head Ali Abdelaziz was the first to publicly announce news of Alires’ death.

Alires suffered the tragic loss of his son in 2015 and remained an advocate for both mental health and suicide prevention until his own untimely passing.

The cause of Alires’ death was not immediately revealed, though multiple people with knowledge of his passing who asked to remain anonymous due to the sensitivity of the subject said a Florida coroner indicated it was due to “natural causes.”
Alires was a respected and well-liked member of the Eagle FC staff, and many in the MMA community took to social media to express their sadness at his passing.
