Dos Anjos sets tentative schedule for title defense
Rafael Dos Anjos: “I can’t wait to start training. I just did surgery on my nose, and it’s still bleeding. But I’m doing my rehab, and nobody wants to come back more than me.”

Rafael dos Anjos tore his medial collateral ligament (MCL) two weeks prior to his title-winning fight against Anthony Pettis. He expects to return to the Octagon this year.
“I want to train at 100 percent, but I think I should be ready to fight at the beginning of November or the end of October,” said dos Anjos. “Because once I start training, I need 16 weeks to get ready for a title fight.”
(The doctor said) I should be back training in three months. So far, we have 45 days (since the injury), and this kind of injury is kind of hard. I still feel my knee – I can’t train.
I’m hyperactive, and I love training, so I’m getting impatient. But I have to be patient because I don’t want to start training at 80, 90 percent. If I was training, it’s OK; I can do anything in 12, 10 weeks, or even eight, he said. But coming from zero, I need 16.
