And so it was to be. Ariel Helwani reports for MMA Fighting that it’s official. Cerrone and Masvidal will fight at UFC on Fox 23: Shevchenko vs. Pena on January 28, 2017, at Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado.
Cerrone is coming off a win over Matt Brown at UFC 206 on Saturday. Masvidal is coming off a win over Jake Ellenberger at the TUF 24 Finale earlier this month, but has been advocating for the fight for months.
Thus four fights are confirmed for the event, in addition to this one.
