Without further ado, here’s some fighters to target for your lineups tomorrow.
Top Tier Value Plays(10.2k-8.4K)
Demetrious Johnson ($10,200) – Demetrious Johnson is the surest play to crush on the slate! Lock him him in, take the 100+ points and move on! Johnson was such a dominant champion, the UFC dedicated a WHOLE season of TUF to finding somebody to try and beat him, and their contest winner was someone who was cut from the UFC and is 0-3 in his last 3 UFC fights! Tim Elliot is a VERY skilled martial artist, and he could go the duration, but I don’t see how he doesn’t get dominated here! Demtrious Johnson by whatever he wants, however he wants IMO! You don’t have to play Demetrious Johnson in tournaments, but he’s absolutely a must in cash.
Rob Font ($8, 700) – Font is taking a big step down in competition here, Schnell is coming in on short notice, and he’s also extremely hittable which makes me love Font whether we’re talking about h2h cash games or Tournament games! I don’t know if I’ll have 100% Font, but I’ll have my fair share!
Brandon Moreno ($8,500) – Moreno looked absolutely spectacular in his last fight against Lous Smolka, and I think he’s got great upside here! Benoit isn’t a pushover, but against promising prospects, he’s consistently been outclassed: Moreno seems like one of those prospects, and it seems like Moreno is not only a good bet to win, but a great bet to finish as well!
Mid Tier Value Plays (8.3-7.9k)
Anthony Smith($8,100) – Smith vs. Mutapcic is going to be an absolutely brutal war, and I like Smith to take it! With evenly priced fights, I usually say to play these types of fights COMPLETELY EVEN, and this is a fight where you should probably do that, but Smith is the guy I’m going with over Mutapcic because his offense is more effective and dangerous and Mutapcic doesn’t have the counter striking tools to exploit the holes in the defense of Smith!
Brendan O’Reilly($7,900) – I love Brendan O’Reilly this weekend! Kim’s defense is porous on all fronts, whether striking, or takedown defense, and although Kim’s black belt Judo hasn’t stopped takedowns too well, it always leads to him getting back up with relative ease: that could lead to O’Reilly hitting numerous takedowns per round upon the cage like so many of Kim’s other opponents have been able to do, and that means MILLIONS of points! Kim is going to be over-owned for the heart he showed against Polo Reyes, and I think that’s where I’ll get my edge on the field! O’Reilly isn’t the best athlete, but he doesn’t have holes in his game like Kim and showed to be super durable against Vik Grukic! O’Reilly isn’t my top play, but he’s my fav in this price range!
Devin Clark ($8,200)- A lot of people are on Stansbury but I don’t know how: Devin Clark is a former JUCO National Champion wrestler, which means that he’s the more accomplished and skilled wrestler; he’s the better athlete, and he’s got WAY more potential! Stansbury has the edge over Clark in that his combinations are a bit more well developed but that’s about it! Clark is a guy I’m excited about having this weekend, he’s the Vegas fav, and his avenue to victory being wrestling, he’s going to score big points in a win!
Lower Tier Value Plays($8.3-7.9k)
Alexis Davis ($7,800)- If McMann can’t get this one down, she doesn’t win! If McMann can’t keep Davis down for long extended periods in the round, she doesn’t win! McMann has to fight the perfect lay and pray fight in order to win in this spot and I have a hard time seeing her do it! Davis is a competent grappler and I think she’ll be ready for the challenges that McMann is going to present to her, even coming off having a baby in February!
Jarrod Cannonier ($7,300) – Cannonier has the abilities to make Cutelaba PAY for his defensive deficiencies, and I think he could accomplish it! Cannonier is a smallish HW fighting at LHW and is arguably the biggest puncher and most well developed striker that Cutelaba has faced up to this point! Cutelaba is a head hunter, that has the grappling ability to employ such a complete game, but he never does and that could be a problem in this spot! I’m picking Cutelaba to win, BUT, Cutelaba is going to give Cannonier AMPLE chances to put him away with his aggression and lack of head movement! Somebody probably gets knocked out here!
Henry Cejudo ($7,200) – Cejudo is the better wrestler and while Benavidez is the more effective striker, Cejudo is STILL developing at this point in his career and could easily outclass Benavidez on the feetwith some small corrections here and there in his game! Cejudo is the most skilled wrestler in the division, and he should be super hungry after getting schooled by DJ!!
