Dillashaw: Cardio key to beating Barao
TJ Dillashaw: “He’s big for the weight class, you know, but I also think that’s his downfall. I don’t think he’s [Renan Barao] going to have the cardio.”

The UFC recently announced that Renan Barao versus TJ Dillashaw would serve as the main event of UFC 173 after the Weidman/Machida bout was moved to UFC 175.
Dillashaw knows going into the fight he wasn’t the first choice for a bantamweight title shot and that he’ll be a big underdog, but believes superior cardio will help him defeat Barao. Dillashaw was a guest on a recent episode of the MMA Hour and discussed the fight:
“I’ve never been the underdog in any of my fights, so it takes all the pressure off. I have nothing to lose and everything to gain … It’s going to be a barnburner and I’m going to upset Barao and shock the world. Everything’s going to change from there.”
“Absolutely, I mean I’ve always been impressed with him before he was even the champ. He’s very well rounded, he’s explosive, he’s huge. He’s big for the weight class, you know, but I also think that’s his downfall. I don’t think he’s going to have the cardio.”
