The great Nate Diaz appeared recently on a special edition of Ariel Helwani’s The MMA Hour for a wide-ranging interview that included UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo. Aldo lost his title to Conor McGregor in just 13 seconds, following the largest media effort in league history. Following the loss, Aldo threatened to quit, and generally seemed unhappy.

Aldo’s crying about McGregor? I’m like bro, it’s your fault, you took him on that f***ing ride around the world and let him punk you everywhere,” said Diaz, as transcribed byRyan Harkness for MMA Mania. “You’re responsible. What the f*** are you crying for? I don’t even know if he’s crying anymore because he got over it, he probably realized that. I’m like bro, you just made a star out of that guy!”

“I wish I had somebody I could just run all around the country and slap around, you know what I’m saying? Now I’m the most famous guy in the world and all I had to do was slap around this little f***er all around the whole place. I don’t mean to disrespect Aldo, but let’s talk the truth here, this is the real hour.

During the time of his discontent, Aldo nearly moved up to lightweight. Diaz is a top-10 lightweight, and with the right opponent, a massive pay per view television draw. Diaz vs. Aldo, Mexican boxing vs. Dutch kickboxing, that’s a hell of a fight.
