UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey recently interrupted reporter’s questions at a media event in Australia to offer unprompted remarks about Nick Diaz’s suspension for five years.

I’m sorry; I know no one asked me anything, but I have to say something, said Rousey. It’s so not right for him to be suspended five years for marijuana. I’m against them testing for any weed at all. It’s not a performance-enhancing drug.”

Diaz spoke with TMZ recently, and was grateful for the support.

“She didn’t need to do that,” said Diaz. “I don’t know if she caught heat for it … I hope she didn’t. But Ronda understands how I am. She’s like me, only a girl. A prize fighter. She’s a great friend.”

Diaz’s legal team has indicated they will be taking the matter to court.
