Diaz and Poirier not impressed by Nurmagomedov vs. McGregor announcement
Nate Diaz: “I’m not fighting on that show fuk the UFC.” Dustin Poirier: “I ain’t fighting on that show either F the UFC.”

Earlier today a UFC 25th anniversary press conference was held, and it closed with the announcement that undefeated lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov will defend vs. former division champ Conor McGregor at UFC 229 on October 6 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Neither Notorious nor The Eagle showed at the press conference, although Diaz did, albeit fashionably late. Diaz fights Dustin Poirier at UFC 230 on November 3, 2018, at Madison Square Garden in Manhattan, New York City, NY.
Diaz was asked why he’s fighting after a two-year break that followed his back to back fights vs. McGregor, the two biggest PPV fights in league history. Diaz reportedly made $2 million for the first fight, and did better still with the second, after years of being woefully under-compensated. His reply was brief.
It’s time to go, so it’s time to go,” explained Diaz. This is a championship fight right here. Since my last fight, I’ve been in a lawsuit, so I wasn’t eligible to fight. I don’t know why nobody told you guys that.
Then a promo played announcing that lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov would fight McGregor at UFC 230. Diaz walked out before the promo ended, and made his feelings felt on the social network.

Diaz expanded on the remarks outside the venue.

Poirier wasn’t impressed either.

Exactly what this means is not yet entirely clear.
