Today the UFC announced that it will hold a special unprecedented press conference just prior to the start of UFC 168, on Saturday, December 28th, at 6:00 PM ET.
A press conference on fight day is rare, so the announcement could be fairly important. The UFC announcement of announcements is always surrounded by speculation and the result usually goes one of two ways.
For example, Saturday’s announcement could be that Brock Lesnar is indeed returning to the UFC, which has been speculated this past week. Or it could be something mundane as the official launch of the UFC’s new digital network.
Either way, you can watch the video here on the Underground and we will be providing live notes from the press conference and updates as it occurs.
Live Notes: The press conference began with Lorenzo Feritta explaining how the UFC has expanded internationally and how are working towards better accomodating their international market.
All of the fights will be available on a new product, UFC Fight pass, starting January 24th with the promotion’s Singapore event.
UFC Fight pass will feature 150 individual bouts in the first year alone, and also will feature new original content.
Hardcore fans will be pleased to know that the network will also feature all fights from Pride, Strikeforce, WEC, EliteXC, WFA, & Affliction. Also, all fights from the ‘dark ages’ of the UFC will also be available for fans.
