DC, Miocic to coach TUF 27, fight at UFC 226
The UFC has announced that Daniel Cormier and Stipe Miococ will fight each other at UFC 226, after serving as opposing coaches on The Ultimate Fighter 27.

At UFC 220, UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier and heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic both successfully defended their titles. Now the UFC has announced that the pair will fight each other at UFC 226, after serving as opposing coaches on The Ultimate Fighter 27. It will be the first time current champions in different divisions have served as coach of the longstanding reality series.
If he wins Cormier will become only the second fighter to hold two belts simultaneously; former featherweight and current light weight Conor McGregor was the first. Cormier would also become the fifth champion to hold belts in two divisons, along with McGregor, Georges St-Pierre, BJ Penn, and Randy Couture.
UFC 226 will be held on July 7, 2018 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Filming will begin next month. Miocic may even have to take a break as a fireman for a time.
Cormier began his MMA career at heavyweight, winning 13 in a row and the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix. Due to his friendship with AKA teammate Cain Velasquez, he dropped to light heavyweight, where he proved successful as well. UFC president Dana White said previously that if Cormier won the heavyweight belt, he could give it up without repercussions.
Cain offered a somewhat cryptic response on his social network.

UFC 226 is also being considered for flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson vs. bantamweight champion T.J. Dillashaw. And women’s featherweight champ Cris Cyborg has proposed the date for a fight with women’s bantamweight champ Amanda Nunes.
Imagine that.
