No sooner had UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier won the title by beating Anthony Johnson at UFC 187, and a challenge was issued by top contender Ryan ‘Darth’ Bader. In fact, Bader was calling DC out even before the fight. In an interview with the peerless Stephie Daniels for BE, Cormier discussed what happened.

“Not only was it a little disrespectful to the situation, but it was also really disrespectful to Anthony, since he was the Number 1 contender.

“Afterwards I kinda said if Jones is gone for a while, we’ll move onto the next guy. Ryan Bader just lost his mind and started screaming at me and s—, and I didn’t understand what was going on.”

“If they feel it’s him, then let it be him. I don’t care. I wouldn’t mind beating him up; I think he deserves it after the stunt he pulled on Saturday night. What he did was so disrespectful. You give a guy his moment. Especially after five months ago, when he said he saw me sitting there crying because I got beat by Jones. He could have given me my moment to sit there and enjoy being on the opposite side of the coin for once.”
