Phil Davis was one of the UFC’s top light heavyweights, but after his contract expired he made the decision to sign with Bellator MMA, a decision he is more than happy with:
Phil Davis didn’t quite picture entering a four-man tournament after signing with Bellator MMA. But now that he’s here, he’s glad he made the jump from the UFC to the Viacom-owned promotion.
I’m all the way happy, he told MMAjunkie. I can’t complain about anything. Life is good here.
Davis (13-3 MMA, 0-0 BMMA), who defected from the UFC in April, is one of the most high-profile additions to the one-night competition, which determines the next contender to the light heavyweight crown. Tournament seeds and matchups have yet to be chosen for Bellator 141: Dynamite, which takes place Sept. 19 at San Jose’s SAP Center and airs live on Spike TV.
