This week’s Haitian earthquake has affected at least one professional fighter.

David “The Crow” Loiseau, a Montreal resident who once fought for the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s middleweight belt, tells Sherdog.com that he hasn’t heard from his grandparents who live two hours from the Haitian capital, Port-au-Prince. Loiseau is also worried about an uncle who lives in Port-au-Prince itself.

Loiseau has Haitian parents. Although he has a Feb. 27 fight scheduled on a local show, the natural disaster has him doing anything but resting.

“I don’t want to sleep,” said. “I want to get the message out. I beg you to donate as much as you can. … Haiti is a very poor country and they need our help.”
