Dana White tried to catch Couture’s tooth as it fell out

The UFC literally began with a tooth flying out. In the very first UFC match ever, you can see Teili Tuli’s toothy fly out at the :38 mark below, replay at 1:48.

Despite the extraordinary advances in regulation and rules, MMA remains a tough, full-contact sport, and teeth are still sometimes lost. At the UFC 129 post fight press conference, Dana White discussed Randy Couture’s tooth falling out in front of him.

Randy has been taken to the hospital, he got his head kicked off … He thought he got hit with a punch … I got up into the Octagon to talk with him and I said “You all right? You all right?”

He says “Yah, he hit me in the tooth.” And his tooth fell out while he was showing me.

I said “That’s all right, we’ll get you a new one, a better one than that, when we get back to Vegas.”

I tried to catch it, but he got it thank God.
