The bad blood between Irish-American Marcus Davis and English-born Dan Hardy has been well documented. It started with Hardy calling Davis a fake Irishman; stating that his popular status in Europe was undeserved because he wasn’t from Europe. Davis took exception to those comments and some alleged pranks involving photoshop and gay pictures. Hardy denied photo-shopping any pics but does claim to have instigated members of a few MMA forums to have at it.

The talking continued to go back and forth, with Hardy instigating and Davis reacting. Davis continued to get more and more agitated throughout the buildup to the fight, to the point that he admitted to “hating’ Hardy and genuinely wanting to hurt him.

Hardy however, had a different plan in mind.
