In the co-main event of Bellator 170 on Saturday night, Paul Daley rocked Brennan Ward with a left hook, rocked him again with a spinning forearm, and rocked him to sleep with a spectacular flying knee.

It was Semtex’s 29th career KO. Ward was removed from the arena on a stretcher, but gave the crowd a thumbs up.

It was announced that Ward was alert responsive, and was taken to the hospital for evaluation as a precaution. Daley spoke to the crowd as well.
First off, I want to wish Brennan Ward’s family and friends that are here that I hope that he’s okay,” said Daley, as transcribed by Jeff Cain for MMA Weekly. “Me and Brennan are tight. This was a difficult fight for me because I genuinely like the guy. We’ve spent a lot of time together here at Bellator, so I wanted to get that out there first. I hope Brennan Ward is okay after this fight.”
Daley also did a callout.
I’m looking at everybody, marquee names and champions,” he began. “Rory MacDonald has come over from the UFC and things he can do his s*** over here. It ain’t going to happen. Rory MacDonald gets in this cage with me, he’s getting knocked the f*** out.”
The former UFC welterweight title challenger MacDonald signed with Bellator in August 2016, but has yet to make his league debut. He is reportedly recovering from a badly broken nose, and hopes to fight in the summer.
In the meantime, he responded to the callout via his social network.
