Earlier this week UFC champion Miesha Tate told the media that she would be open to a catch weight fight with Cris Cyborg. Cyborg has fought once in the UFC at 140 lbs. and is adamant she can’t make the bantamweight limit, but is very interested in doing one-off catch weight fights.
Cyborg recently appeared on MMA Junkie radio and spoke about a potential fight with the UFC champion, but she believes it is just talk from Miesha Tate:
“I think (Miesha) doesn’t want to fight me, she just wants to say that to bully Ronda. If she really wanted to fight me, of course the UFC would promote it, because it is the fight all the fans want to watch.
The first fight is Me vs. Ronda and the second if Ronda doesn’t come back is Me Vs. Miesha.
All the fans want to watch this fight. The UFC is the best event. They want to make the best Fights for all the fans, [if she asks] Of course they will make this fight happen. she is already 2 x world champion, after this fight if she really wants to challenge herself she just has to as for me. “I want Cyborg 140″ and it will be a Superfight for all the fans.”
