Evangelista ‘Cyborg’ Santos fought Michael Page at Bellator 158 in London on July 16, losing via jump knee. The impact broke his skull.
The fighter had to wait for his condition to stabilize sufficiently to fly. On Wednesday he had seven hours of surgery on Wednesday in Houston, Texas
“I had surgery yesterday, and thank God everything went fine,” said Santos to Guilherme Cruz for MMA Fighting. “It lasted seven hours, and the hospital will give Bellator a full report later today. God guided the doctors in this surgery so everything went well.”
“They didn’t tell me anything about timetable for recovery ye. tI’ll be released from hospital today, and then they will tell me how long it will take. But it will be fast. I’ll be back soon.”
The fighter then provided a series of images.

Prior to surgery, the fighter said he planned to fight ten more times.
