Cyborg: I wouldn’t box Mayweather, but would tap him in MMA
Cris Cyborg: “The first thing I’m gonna try is a double leg. … I think fight Mayweather in boxing, it would be crazy. But MMA, I would probably take down him.”

UFC women’s featherweight champion Cris Cyborg spoke recently with TMZ ahead of her fight Saturday night vs. Yana Kunitskaya. The Russian is 2-2 with one No Contest in her last five fights, and faces long odds. However, TMZ asked Cyborg whether the greatest boxer of his generation, Floyd Mayweather Jr., might ever enter the Octagon. And she was asked theoretically how she would do.
“I’m gonna try my grappling for him, said Cyborg said. The first thing I’m gonna try is a double leg. … I think fight Mayweather in boxing, it would be crazy. But MMA, I would probably take down him. I’m not going to challenge my boxing with his boxing.
Cyborg agreed she would tap the boxer, but added a caveat.
I’d need to slip my head a lot and have to be fast before I can catch him,” she quipped.
Cris Cyborg fights Yana Kunitskaya in the main event of UFC 222 on March 3, 2018, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
