UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos has been on a four fight win streak. Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone’s streak was at an astonishing eight. Only one streak would continue after Saturday night’s UFC on FOX 17. However, his last loss was to RDA, and so was his latest.

“Sometimes you don’t show up to work, so you get your ass kicked,” said Cerrone, at the post fight press con, as transcribed by Brad Popkin for MMAMania. “Hats off to the son of a b—-; he did what he had to do. He did a great job of overwhelming me and doing what he had to do to remain champ.”

Cerrone was asked when he might fight again.

“I have no idea how that’ll work,” he said. “I don’t even know if they’ll want to call me after that a– whooping.”

They will.
