Daniel Cormier will make his light-heavyweight debut at this Saturday’s UFC 170, but it almost got derailed when his original opponent was injured and Cormier took relief in some fast food:

I hear I’m not fighting on Wednesday and I’m all sad, Cormier revealed during Wednesday’s UFC 170 media day. The only thing that can make a Louisiana boy feel better is Popeyes. So I freaked out the next day. It was bad, it was horrible. I had four pieces of chicken and cajun rice, it was so good. I was laying on the ground, I was hurting. I was like, ‘Oh, this is so bad.’

Because I hadn’t eaten anything like that in so long. How could it taste so good to be so bad? I was like, ‘Oh, my stomach’s killing me, but I feel so good.’

Cormier felt even worse the next day when UFC president Dana White called and said he was still fighting this Saturday. The former Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix winner now meets last-second substitute Patrick Cummins at UFC 170.

Oops…

Thankfully for Cormier, his nutritionist had the secret remedy to flush out the 34-year-old’s greasy intake from the prior day – chug three gallons of water.
