With the potential return of UFC interim light heavyweight champion Jon Jones delayed by a rescheduled Nevada Athletic Commission hearing, there was no question who division champion Daniel Cormier would fight next.

The UFC has announced that the pair will have a rematch at UFC 206 on December 10 at Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Rumble earned the right to fight for the title by destroying Glover Teixiera in 13 seconds at UFC 202 last month.

In their first fight, Cormier beat Johnson via rear-naked choke at UFC 187 on May 23, 2015 for the belt vacated by Jon Jones’ woefully unfortunate out of contest conduct. Cormier had been adamant for the some time that Johnson was the #1 challenger, and he had no interest in waiting around Jon Jones’ star to align.

And now Cormier has his wish.
