uThere are only three sources of content compelling enough to get over 1,000,000 pay per view television buys: the UFC, several champions in boxing over the last generation, and the WWE.

UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor has a remarkable ability to garner attention in all three arenas. In MMA there is no one like ‘Notorious’. In boxing, the greatest draw in the history Floyd Mayweather Jr is angling for a fight with him.

And McGregor recently got into a quarrel with seemingly the entire WWE, after calling them “a bunch of p*****s.” McGregor also repeatedly singled out fan favorite John Cena, describing him as “a big fat, 40-year-old failed Mr. Olympia mother f***er.

A number of wrestlers responded, including Brock Lesnar who growled, I take s***s bigger than that kid, alright.

However, when former WWE superstar CM Punk came up short in his MMA debut vs. the unheralded Mickey Gall, McGregor was complimentary.

I’ll tell you what, began McGregor, in response to questions from a TMZ Sports stringer. Fair play to him, because he got in there and fought. And not a lot of people do. Not a lot of people have the balls to make that walk, so fair play.

He got his ass whooped. God bless, he got his ass WHOOPED. Those WWE guys are straight p*****s, I told yous all. But he isn’t. He got in and fought. So fair play to him. Respect.

The reporter tried to continue the line of questioning, but McGregor had the last word.

“I think I’m the greatest,” shouted McGregor. “I think I’m pound for pound #1.”

For the record, McGregor is #4 in the UFC’s official top 15 P4P fighters.

McGregor is currently deciding whether to rematch interim champion Jose Aldo (ranked #5) or challenge Eddie Alvarez (#6) for his lightweight title. A win over either might move him up the rankings.
