Conor: It’s a red panty night at ZUFFA

One a recent episode of The Ultimate Fighter, UFC interim featherweight champion Conor McGregor took a dig at opposing coach Urijah Faber. ‘Notorious’ told Faber that he better watch out for Dillashaw, because he’s a “snake in the grass.”

Faber laughed it off, referring warmly to Dillashaw as “my boy.”

Mystic Mac was not impressed

“You shouldn’t have brought him in,” said McGregor later, on TUF Talk. “That was your moment to build [a fight] up and you let him come in. He took over your s—. You brought him up from high school, you brought him up through the game. He’s not your boy. Come on. There are no boys in this. He’s not your boy. I don’t mind him, but I sense disloyalty. I sense a snake and I’m going to say that when I see it.”

Faber is the founder of Team Alpha Male, and their star fighter, UFC bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw, was splitting his training between TAM and ousted former head coach Duane “Bang” Ludwig.

Now Dillashaw has moved to Colorado’s Team Elevation, where he will continue to be partially trained by Ludwig. When the subject of Conor McGregor gibe was brought up by MMA Fighting, Dillashaw joked that it was “perfect timing.”

“Maybe he is able to read the future,” Dillashaw said with a laugh. … “I’m just taking an opportunity that’s given to me and I’m just trying to run with it.”

McGregor agrees with the reading the future part. And he next predicts a Dillashaw vs. Faber fight. Note: This is best read in an Irish accent.

Faber and Dillashaw are on record as saying they would fight for the right money. Dillashaw fights Dominick Cruz at UFC Fight Night 81 on January 17, 2016 in Boston, Massachusetts. With a win, the next logical fight is Urijah Faber.
