UFC strawweight Felice Herrig took over a year off, but was triumphant in her return to the UFC Saturday night vs. Kailin Curran of Hawai’i at UFC on FOX 20, ending the fight in the first round via rear naked choke.

I feel like my last fight I was really burnt out because I wanted to give so much,” explained Herrig in a training video on UFC.com. “I was so burnt out that I had nothing left to give when it came fight time. It’s actually really hard for me to talk about because I’ve never felt like that before in a fight. So that’s why I took so much time off from fighting.”

I just got to the point where I’m like, ‘This is me and this is what you’re getting, so take it or leave it.’ None of that matters and here I am, just ready to fight.

I’m not really concerned about what Kailin is thinking. The goal is always the same: to win fights.

Goal achieved! Congratulations Lil’ Bulldog!!!
