The event was originally scheduled to feature a flyweight title main event, until top contender Ray Borg was deemed medically unfit to compete on Thursday. The co-main event was moved to the top spot featuring a women’s bantamweight title fight between Amanda Nunes and Valentina Schevchenko.

The event was broadcast in three parts starting with two bouts on UFC Fight Pass at 7:00 PM ET. That was followed by a four fight preliminary card on FOX Sports 1 at 8:00 PM and finally the five fight PPV card at 10:00 PM EST.
