Combate Global today announced four new fights to complete its fight card that will be headlined by the previously announced bantamweight non-title fight between reigning world champion David “The Black Spartan: Martinez (6-1) and Arturo “El Makako”Vergara (2-0 MMA, 3-1 Kickboxing), live on Paramount+ on Sunday, May 29 from Miami.
Paramount+ live coverage will begin with a Combate Global pre-show at 9:30 p.m. ET and will continue with the live fight action, beginning at 10 p.m. ET.
The 23-year-old Martinez of Mexico City had originally been slated to put his title on the line against 2021 Copa Combate tournament champion and Combate Global No. 1 contender Frans “The Zulu Irishman” Mlambo (13-5) of Ireland, but the fight was scratched after Mlambo sustained an abdominal injury.
Vergara is a 27-year-old professional kickboxer turned unbeaten MMA upstart who hails from Los Andes, Chile, and has taken up residence with Goat Shed Academy in Miami. He is coming off a stunning, 9-second TKO via flying knee of Cody Schieve on May 6.

Among the four new bouts announced today for the Combate Global event on May 29 was a featherweight (145 pounds) matchup between Tino “No Mercy” Gilaranz (4-2) and Chris Boasso (3-2).
For the 29-year-old Gilaranz of Madrid, Spain, the fight represents an opportunity to return to Combate Global after a short stint with the organization between 2018 and 2019. Gilaranz is looking to extend his win streak to three consecutive bouts after scoring a first-round TKO on Nestor Santana last December 18.
Boasso, a 28-year-old resident of Miami, is a dangerous striker who has earned all three of his professional wins via knockout within two rounds. He is looking to rebound from a defeat at the hands of Miguel Gonzalez in Combate Global action last Nov. 19.
In a featured women’s 110-pound catchweight fight, Marina Sanchez (0-0) of Barcelona, Spain will take on fellow former amateur kickboxing star Jade Jorand (0-2 MMA, 1-0 Kickboxing) of Bordeaux, France.
The preliminary bout card will be highlighted by a bantamweight fight between Alan “Beche” Cantu (9-8) of Monterrey, Mexico via Phoenix and Pierre “The French Hawaiian” Daguzan (6-6) of Versailles, France via Honolulu, Hawaii.
Kicking off the card will be a featherweight (145 pounds) matchup between Justin “Slick J” Vasquez (7-2) of Miami and Mauricio Cubillo (10-5) of San Jose, Costa Rica.
